THQ Will Sell You Cheats for Saints Row 3 — Just Give ‘Em $2.99

Furthering a disturbing and awful trend that’s re-developing in games — I say re-developing because this isn’t the first time publishers have though to sell us something we should rightly get for free — THQ is offering DLC packs for Saints Row: The Third that include cheat codes.

Yes, you too can own your very own cheat codes for Saints Row 3 for the low, low price of $2.99. Capcom’s offering the same deal for Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. You know, asking you to shell out a few bucks for the ability to do things in games that programmers used to make available free to players if they were savvy enough to discover them. Remember when the people who made video games were cool?

Here’s the official description of the Invincible DLC pack, available RIGHT NOW:

Never worry about dying or running out of ammo! Unlock the Get Down Cheat that makes you ultra limber. Super Saints gives you better guns and better health while Ultimate Clip ensures that you’re always ready to fire. Get Infinite Mass for your vehicle plus Super Explosions and you’ll be ready for anything!

If you can’t tell, this annoys me. Also worth noting that this downloadable content pack contains no actual content.

Even worse: $10 for the privelege of playing co-op. The description makes it sound like normal coop, that works with one game disc and a second controller. No, it requires a friend with a second game disk and console. And another $10 from him. Wtf!. I want my money back.

this is bogus. the game companies are starting to suck us dry, making us pay for thats already on the disc. plus, you can already become invincable with the respect cheat.
and when you payed for the xbox/ps3, are paying for live or network plus,
and now their adding extra fee’s ontop of all that, im losing faith in so many publishers and developers.
