Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 Now Available – Try the Demo First

tiger_woods_08_boxart.jpgAvailable now for nearly every conceivable platform (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, DS, PC, Mac, and PSP), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 might actually warrant a purchase even if you aren’t interested in picking up a new golf game every year – if you’ve got an Xbox 360 or PS3, at least. Tiger Woods 08′s most exciting feature, GamerNet, is only available on those two platforms.

GamerNet records every shot on every hole as you play, and then allows you to upload your games so that they can be shared with others. You can also earn points by facing off against others, meeting challenges they set. This could be a really interesting feature – in lieu of playing an online match against someone, you could conceivably go back and forth, leaderboard style. And since it’s video, any goal could be set, like hitting a particular part of the field in X number of shots, hitting the hole from a certain number of feet away, and so on. The possibilities make it feel somewhat sandbox-ish, which is certainly not a bad thing.

Xbox 360 gamers can head over to the Xbox Live Marketplace and try out a demo of the game before plunking down $60.
