Tiny Brains Dev Announces New Feedback-Based Game Project
Spearhead Studios has announced plans to make a new “competitive physics-based video game.”
The studio, which has previously released the cooperative puzzler Tiny Brains, revealed the project in a press release. According to the release, Spearhead’s plans include an ambitious three month development period as well as as a unique open door policy that its founders hope will allow gamers to directly shape the game with their feedback.
“We decided we want to give the [gaming] community even more influence in building this new game,” said Spearhead co-founder Simon Darveau. “Everything will be open. Everything will be tested. Everything will be up for comment. This is the future of video games as we see it. Why not start the future now?” Darveau and his fellow co-founders Malik Boukhira and Atul Mehra intend to share the game’s progress via weekly Twitch shows that will air Thursdays at 7 p.m. EST. During each show, viewers will be able to ask questions and offer comments.
While little else was revealed about the project, Spearhead has also released a small collection of related concept art. The included images detail a futuristic sci-fi cityscape seemingly inhabited by robots. One image notably contains a bare human skull, potentially suggesting a human race in dire straits. Whether or not this winds up being the case, however, is something we’ll have to wait and see as more information becomes available.
