TNWA says Tournament.com Closure Due to Short Sightedness

tournament_2.jpgThe CEO of online game provider TNWA has gone on record saying that Tournament.com could have been less aggressive and has had suffered closure because of its short sightedness in its business practices.

“It’s always a shame when a company that operates in the online gaming space ceases trading, especially so for the communities that they support,” TNWA CEO Paul Sulyok told GamesIndustry.biz.

“However, Tournament.com did enter into an undeveloped market place in a particularly aggressive and non-inclusive manner which did not allow what is a potentially a significant growth sector to expand, for which Tourament.com paid the ultimate price.

“Had Tournament.com taken a less aggressive stance the market space may have grown more and therefore supported both them and other participants.”

Tournament acquired the exclusive right to Valve’s Counter-Strike source earlier this year. They refused to trade with other sites which may have growth of a potentially rich market.
