To The Moon Blasting Onto Steam This Week
Good news, all those of you who like your games with heaping piles of well-written story: To The Moon is hitting Steam on Sept. 7, and you should get it if you haven’t already.
If you’re unfamiliar, To The Moon is a sort of top-down RPG/adventure game hybrid, in which you play as a pair of scientists who specialize in inserting memories into the minds of people on their death beds. The idea is that, when those folks get to the ends of their lives, these scientists add the events they wish they’d experienced. The effect, however, speeds up their end.
I got a chance to play To The Moon back when it was first released last year, and it was one of the best game story experiences of the year. You should really check it out. Here’s the review. If you already purchased To The Moon, the good news is that you can request a free Steam code from developer Freebird Games, but you’ll have to do it manually by sending an email. A special address will be set up for receiving code requests. The Steam version will also support a number of new language translations.
Kan Gau, the man behind Freebird Games, says he’s also working on a new episode of To The Moon that’ll feature some of the same characters as the original. Can’t wait.
Game Front is on-site at PAX Prime all weekend (Aug 31-Sep 2), bringing you daily news, hands-on previews, interviews and pictures. Stay tuned for more PC gaming-focused coverage!
