Tomb Raider E3 Demo Shows Off Gameplay, Parachutes

At today’s Microsoft Press Conference, Square Enix showed off a brand new Tomb Raider gameplay demo. The Lara Croft origin story is shaping up to look pretty good, although we obviously haven’t seen anything but hands-off footage.

The new demo showed Lara jumping, running, and using the bow that’s been featured with her character to blast her foes. I could be mistaken, but I could have sworn I saw her shoot an arrow into a guy’s knee. After taking on a few bad guys, she got washed downhill into a wrecked plane, where she donned a conveniently located parachute before the plane gave way below her.

We’re still getting details about the newest Tomb Raider, and we’ll have more for you from the show floor later this week. For now, just know that Lara gets the crap kicked out of her on a regular basis in every clip we’ve seen.
