Tomb Raider Gets Updated Again With Graphical Improvements

The PC version of Tomb Raider has been updated once again, this time with improvements to the game’s UI and TressFX hair effects. The requirements for TressFX have been reduced, as to provide better performance for players with the feature enabled. It’s also received some improvements to its simulation and graphical quality.

Also added is a new Ultra-quality shadow mode for “contact hardening shadows”. They can only be enabled from the advanced settings screen.

Among the many new things being added in the update is a new push-to-talk feature (automatically bound to F1) and a voice chat volume options. Both features were heavily requested by players who previously found that they were unable to mute other players or control whether their voice options in multiplayer.

The studio reports that they’ve been working closely with Nvidia’s technicians to address various crash and performance-related issues faced by Tomb Raider players with GeForce graphics cards. They recommend that players pick up the 314.21 drivers that were released recently for the best experience.
