Top 10 Best Batman: Arkham Asylum Skins
With Batman: Arkham City right around the corner, we thought we’d take a look at the best mods made for 2009′s Batman: Arkham Asylum. Unfortunately, Arkham Asylum’s modding scene is… nonexistent. However, a number of skins were made in the game‘s heyday, so here are the ten best re-imaginings of the Dark Knight’s costume.
While we normally provide download links to any mods we cover, these skins have been lost to the ravages of poor file hosting services, so think of this as a museum — you can look, but you can’t touch. The mod authors should have used GameFront…
10. Batman of Zur-En-Arrh
Not many of you will recognize the garish costume of the Dark Knight’s doppelganger from the planet Zur-En-Arrh, so you’ll just have to believe me when I say that, as hideous as this skin is, it’s an accurate portrayal of a 1958 creation that should have never been revived.
That costume is as mismatched as an MMORPG character’s outfit.
9. Black Batsuit
While I love the sleek, black look, this costume doesn’t have a better spot on the list because it takes little imagination and even less skill to simply darken a skin in Photoshop.
While not exactly a faithful recreation of Owlman’s costume from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, this skin wins points for trying to be something other than “Batman in slightly different colors.” Also, that gold is pretty classy.
7. Classic Symbol on Black Suit
On one hand, this is just the black batsuit skin again. On the other hand, the author went the extra mile to swap bat logos for those who like their heroes retro.
6. Captain America
This skin was too funny to pass up. Add a dash of Uncle Sam, and Batman goes from menacing vigilante to corny superhero. Stars and stripes, baby.
