Top 10 Themed Minecraft Worlds: Middle-earth, Westeros & Beyond

7. Mirror’s Edge

Mirror’s Edge didn’t sell well by EA standards, but that’s no reflection of quality. Set in “The City”, a large dystopian metropolis influenced by real world locations like Sydney and Singapore, it’s a sterile place gleaming with white, blue, orange, and red colors. High sales or not, it was certainly original enough to inspire a myriad of creations, one of which is Minecraft’s Edge, a faithful remake of The City in Minecraft. Install it, and you can jump around and perform leaps just like Faith in the original game.

6. Azeroth

At least 15 million of you already know tis, but for the rest of you, Azeroth is the World of Warcraft. Literally. We already know how addictive WoW is, so it’s not a shock that it has inspired a world of its own in Minecraft, created by a player named Rumsey, who’s no doubt so addicted to World of Warcraft that he had to bring it into another game entirely.

“The Crafting Azeroth project is a full-scale reproduction of the World of Warcraft environment for Minecraft. The creation of the map is heavily automated, assisted by custom software that I have developed. The continents of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms were the first to be generated.”

5. Columbia

The skybound setting of BioShock Infinite’s Columbia is easily one of the most creative environments to ever grace a video game. (No wonder: it was itself inspired by the so-called White City erected during the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.)

This Minecraft world faithfully recreates Columbia, and even has a working set of skylines which players can use to traverse the city. All that’s missing is a Songbird to keep us company.
