Torchlight 2 Level/Game Editor GUTS is Out!
It may be April 1st, but Runic Games isn’t fooling around with its release of GUTS, better known as the Torchlight 2 editor.
Following up on their promise to release the in-house editing tool to the public, the studio has put up a brand new update for Torchlight 2. Weighing in at a hefty 762mb, the update adds GUTS and full Steam Workshop support for modders to upload and share their creations.
Players can modify anything and everything in Torchlight 2 with the tool, ranging from item and skill balance, to level layouts, animations, quests, and more. Mods can be shared with other players and multiplayer games using the mods can be found in the modded games lobby, newly added to the game. Additionally, a new launcher lets you customize which mods are currently active.
WHile playing modded games, you’ll be able to view your mod history, any previously played mods, and what disabling certain mods may have on your character.
The studio has also released a special tool to allow players to convert pre-GUTS mods into the official mod format, so existing mods should have no difficulty transitioning to the new system.
If you’d like to get started with GUTS, you can check out the newly enabled wiki that the company’s been working on.
In addition to the GUTS editor, the new update adds new monsters, new armor sets, new weapons, new pets—including the headcrab—new endgame map content, additional dungeons in New Game Plus mode, and an all new NetherRealm tileset for newly added dungeons.
