Torchlight 2 Will Be $19.99

PAX Prime starts today, and that means plenty of news and announcements. One of the first is from one of my favorite developers, Runic Games. They’ve announced pricing for Torchlight 2.

Torchlight 2 will retail for $19.99 when it launches. Unfortunately, Runic hasn’t announced that yet, as they still say the game will launch on PC “in 2011.” This isn’t a surprise, as the first Torchlight sold a million copies at the same price. Runic’s CEO, Max Schaefer, said this about the pricing:

It’s always been our goal to provide exceptional value for the price. Everyone who wants to play Torchlight II will be able to comfortably afford to do so, and they’ll be able to play with their friend online or via a LAN, or play single player offline, all with no further purchases.

Also in this announcement was the name of Torchlight 2′s fourth playable class, the Embermage. This magic-wielder completes the class lineup of the game, joining the Engineer, Outlander, and Berserker.
