Torchlight 2 Will Have Steamworks Support on Launch Day

You’ll be able to start strapping mods to Torchlight 2 basically as soon as they’re available starting on Sept. 20, thanks to Steamworks support that’ll be available at the game’s launch.

Speaking with GameSpy, Runic Games’ Travis Baldree confirmed Torchlight 2 will have Steamworks support at launch, as well as a few Runic-made mods to go with the game when it becomes available on Steam later this month. Mod tools are set to follow, probably within a few weeks, Baldree said.

When asked about DLC, Baldree said you can expect fresh content updates from Runic — and that it’ll likely be free.

“‘We want to do about one a month to remind people we’re still around,’ he said, adding that these might include new set items or events.”

Sounds like $20 for Torchlight 2 is going to be a steal.
