Total War: Rome 2 Releasing in 2013

A month ago, rumors surfaced of an imminent reveal of a sequel to Rome: Total War when a leaked photo from an upcoming July issue of an Australian gaming magazine showed a screenshot of the original game with a roman numeral “2″ superimposed onto it.

The reveal broke sooner than we’d thought. Today, Sega has announced Total War: Rome II for PC, set to release in 2013.

“Our games have always encompassed a grand vision,” said Mike Simpson, Creative Director. “But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale.”

Which was your favorite title in the Total War series?

Shogun: Total War was still the best one they’ve ever made, if you ask me. All the subsequent TWs lacked the bit of magic that made the first S:TW special. Technically more impressive, sure, and with a vast variety of choices on both the tactical and strategic layers, but at the same time missing the simplicity that appealed to me in their first game.

@Peggle20 Then I’m glad I couldn’t played it, and instead met the magic at Rome: Total War.
