Total War: Rome 2 Trailer Highlights the Plight of Cleopatra

Creative Assembly and Sega have put together a trailer for Total War: Rome 2, introducing Cleopatra as the ruler of the Egyptian faction, which is one of 118 factions in the game.

The trailer also offers viewers the first glimpse of the game’s campaign map. You’ll be staring at that a lot when the game comes out.

The video itself is made up of cinematics and narration by Cleopatra with an authentic foreign accent. Check it out below.

“We who are seen as gods have the farthest to fall. For have we not built the impossible? And for what? To share my bed with a Roman. Our alliance is born of necessity, not love. To rule as Isis I would suckle the wolf. But no matter how much I fed the beast, it could not be sated. I betrayed my lover, brought ruin on my brother, murdered my sister, any mother would have done the same. And still they will hunt you down, my son, the last of the Pharaoh.”

We had a chance to preview the game at GDC earlier this year, so be sure to check that out.

Total War: Rome 2 is slated for a September 3, 2013 release, exclusive to the PC.
