Total War: Rome 2′s Egyptian Faction Announced

Rome 2: Total War wouldn’t be very faithful to its classical antiquity setting if it didn’t include the Egyptians as a playable faction.

Today, Creative Assembly revealed that the Egyptians will be coming to the game, with control over both North Africa and the Middle East under the rule of Ptolemy, who usurps the throne after the death of Alexander the Great.

Like all other factions in the game, Egypt has its own set of unique units which are made up of spearmen skilled in both Greek and Egyptian fighting styles. They have an army that is both advanced and balanced. Although they make great use of the spear and the pike, their armies are further diversified with the addition of skilled swordsmen, chariots, and African war elephants.

Players will have the opportunity to take control of Egypt and the people under its rule by expanding its territory beyond the borders of history—to the East, or the West.
