Trade Current-Gen Consoles for $200 Toward Alienware PC
If there was ever a time to get a new PC, it’s when Battlefield 4 is about to come out and even the upcoming touted PS4 can only run it at 720p. Yeah, I know everybody hates Dell, but Alienware is offering as good of a deal as you’re going to find if you try to unload one of your old game consoles at this point.
They’re offering $200 for trades of the Wii, PlaySation 3s of any generation provided the HDD is at least 60gb, and slim or newer Xbox 360s. They’re going about it in an inconvenient sort of way, however: You buy a PC from them using this page, then do the trade, and once they’ve verified that your thing works they’ll transfer the money into your account. Usually those transfers actually cost you money, so that $200 might be more like $180 when you get it. Also, it might take over a month for you to get the money, so this is more of a rebate type of deal.
Even so, you do get your new PC before you have to mail in your console, so that’s to your advantage in a way. I do feel obligated to point out that building your own rig will almost certainly cost less than to have Alienware do so even with the trade in money.
Another note: you can also trade in a computer, provided it’s pre-built, meets certain specs and is under five years old.
