Treyarch Says Black Ops Will Be Bigger and Better than Modern Warfare 2
Josh Olin of Treyarch, developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops, tells MCV: Every Call of Duty game has ratcheted the bar up for the next one, and we’re just ratcheting up the bar one step further. I think Black Ops is going to exceed expectations. This game is going to be huge.
MCV then points out that Olin also says the game is so good that it will stand side-by-side with the Infinity Ward entries in the Call of Duty series.
I totally believe this. It felt like Treyarch mostly got how a Call of Duty game should play with World at War, and so if they can improve on that aspect a little and then craft a story that isn’t nonsense like that of Modern Warfare 2, they should be set.
Now, as far as selling bigger than Modern Warfare 2 goes, well, it’s possible; World at War had sales numbers not far off from the two Modern Warfare titles. Black Ops might not launch as well, though. Yuck, speculation. I’ll shut up now.
