Tri Synergy Discontinues Distribution of Limbo of the Lost

Limbo of the Lost

Tri Synergy has halted distribution of Majestic’s Limbo of the Lost due to recent claims of the developers plagiarizing some of the design elements from Oblivion and Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Apparently the thievery did not stop there either. Accusations of content being stolen from the aforementioned games is just the tip of the iceberg because it turns out that Bethseda and Eidos were not the only ones ripped off. Supposedly, the game also “borrowed” textures, gameplay and other elements from Diablo II, Painkiller and Unreal Tournament 2004. These elements of plagiarizing shocked Tri Synergy enough that the game would no long be sold in retail stores or online and current stock is currently being pulled.

According to a statement released by the company:

“Tri Synergy is just as shocked as everyone else is by the recent screenshot comparisons. At no point during our dealings with Majestic Studios up until the point that the comparison was first publicly made by a third party did we have any knowledge of these similarities. Additionally, Tri Synergy will discontinue distribution of Limbo of the Lost in both retail and online outlets. We have contacted the developer, Majestic, and are anxiously awaiting their response. As soon as we know more on this matter we will issue another statement.”

Yikes. In this day and age, one would have to be daft to try and pull something over on the gaming public like this. It just goes to show you that nothing escapes the discerning eye of a well rounded gamer.
