“Trials of Archimedes” to be Patched in God of War: Ascension

The Trials of Archimedes are easily the most difficult part of God of War: Ascension. Essentially, the segment of the game is one long gauntlet of battles with no save checkpoints or health drops to be found. While skilled players might feel at home in the area, almost everybody else has found the location dauntingly frustrating.

To that end, we’ve put together a video guide on how to beat the Trials of Archimedes on Hard.

In any case, Sony Santa Monica is well aware of the challenge the area poses and has promised to patch the area to make it less of a frustration. The game’s lead director Todd Papy stated on Twitter that he didn’t mean for it to be so difficult.

 

He added that it’ll be patched “very soon”, though he did not offer a timeline.

Yeah this part was difficult. It took me like 20 tries before I figured out I had the amulet of uroboros which slows down the enemies or has the floating in the air for a few seconds for me to get alot of hits in.

This is the trick to use no need to patch it. Making things difficult in a game challenges me as a player to resolve it and I feel better afterwards knowing I accomplished it.

I managed to beat it after several tries on hard mode. The tricky part for me is that I needed to use techniques that I hadn’t used until that point, but it really didn’t seem all that bad. I thought about waiting for the patch, but I opted to push through since I didn’t want to stop so close to the finish just to wait for a patch that has no date set.
