Tropico 4 Coming Soon? Yes! Yes, It Is!

I guess it’s not news that Tropico 4 is deep in development, but somehow that fact slipped by me. I assume my mind filtered the news when I heard it back in August because it seems so strange; there was a six-year hiatus between Tropicos 2 and 3, and so I just couldn’t process that another Tropico would be in the works so quickly.

And it’s coming hella quicker than I could have imagined, because Kalypso said today it would be hitting 360 in Q2 2011 alongside the previously announced PC version, which would put it about a year and a half after the release of Tropico 3. Nuts.

The Kalypso website is more specific, saying it’s coming in April, but don’t take that as gospel just yet.

Tropico 4 will be beefed up compared to the last one, as you would expect, but the most exciting part of the game is its Twitter and Facebook integration. I just love spamming people with my in-game accomplishments, as I did with Uncharted 2.

Anyway, as a Tropico fan, this is good news. This probably won’t be a day-one get for most folks, but it’ll be a great grab once June rolls around and new games stop coming out.
