Tropico 5 Receives New History Spanning Gameplay Trailer

Kalypso Media has released a new gameplay trailer for Tropico 5.

The trailer, which clocks in at about a minute and a half in length, focuses primarily on the game’s revamped time mechanic. Unlike previous entries in the city-building series, Tropico 5 will begin in the 1800s and follow the fictional island nation as it changes and advances through different ages of history. The game will also introduce co-op and competitive mutliplayer, both firsts for the franchise.

The footage, in turn, provides a quick run through of how this historical advancement will look. This, of course, will likely be of interest to franchise fans, many of whom may get their first chance to try the game out this month thanks to the launch of previously planned beta. Though no specific date has yet been announced, Tropico 5 is currently slated to release on PC and PS4 later this year

I liked Modern Times for Tropico 4- it should’ve been there from the beginning. Seems like they are trying to expand on its mechanisms with this one.
