Tropico 5′s Physical Release Delayed Due to Packaging Snafu

Tropico 5′s retail release has been pushed back to June 17 in the US, due to problems manufacturing the packaging for the title.

Kalypso’s Caribbean dictator simulator hit Steam and other digital distribution platforms a week ago, but the retail version still hasn’t made it to stores. As it turns out, this is due to a problem with the manufacturing of the retail packaging, and getting it fixed is going to require a little extra time.

Kalypso announced today that the retail version will now be available on Tuesday, June 17 in the US, saying,

“Fans and consumers who pre-ordered Tropico 5 for retail will be glad to know that the teams are working hard to solve the manufacturing issue and that they will receive the complete Tropico 5 retail package on this date.”

Tropico 5 is still available digitally for PC, and will be coming to Mac and Xbox 360 sometime this summer, with a PS4 release slated for the fall. If you haven’t made up your mind on playing it, you could always check out our review.
