Tunnel Rats and Attack Helicopters: Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops

CoDBO1Microsoft’s E3 2010 presser kicked off with the biggest franchise of this console generation, showcasing the lushly art-directed Call of Duty: Black Ops. Set during the Cold War (a refreshingly under-represented epoch), the demo began with some mood-establishing tunnel crawling, replete with knife-wielding Vietcong leaping from shadows.

After blasting his way through some predictably well-choreographed firefights, developer Mark Lamia hopped into a Hind to demonstrate his new titles marquee feature: fully steerable attack helicopter combat.

Immediately coming under fire, Lamia navigated a gantlet of hot lead and shrapel as he raced down a river valley towards the demo’s conclusion. Call of Duty fans can look forward to copious vehicle carnage when the game comes out on November 9th, 2010.

Not impressed either. I wont spend one cent on anything with treyarch’s name on it, even if it were the cure for cancer, i wouldn’t buy it.

The Call of Duty franchise for me will end with MW3 if it ever comes out, hopefully by whatevers left of infinty ward, or if somehow respawn got a hold of it, that would be awesome if they did.
