Two Razer Blade Prototypes Stolen, Won’t Affect Release
A week ago Saturday, somebody broke into the Razer labs and stole two prototypes of their PC gaming-saving laptop Razer Blade. Aside from the cost of the prototypes, the main loss for Razer is testing data; one of the devices was going through a thermal test when it was stolen.
A Razer rep told Kotaku that the theft will not affect the computer’s retail release, whenever that was going to be. The rep also said they made the thefts public in hopes of recovering the devices. They think they’re distinctive enough that folks might recognize them if the thief uses one at a coffee shop or something. That’s probably a good point; the thing is pretty unique looking.
We still don’t know when the Razer Blade will be released, but when it is, it will cost you $2,800.
