Ubisoft Insists Splinter Cell: Blacklist PC Won’t Be Delayed

Ubisoft has insisted that the PC version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist will not be delayed, and that it will release at the same time as its console versions on August 20th.

Replying to RPS, a Ubisoft rep stated, “The August 20th date is also for the PC version as well,” and further clarified, “No worries. [The PC version] is day and date with the console versions.”

In the past, Ubisoft has been known to push back PC release dates for its major titles for reasons some speculate to be in the hopes of limiting PC piracy. Ubisoft hasn’t given an official reason why it delays so many games — PC releases of Assassin’s Creed titles, Driver: San Francisco, as well as smaller downloadables such as From Dust have received delays of a couple weeks to a full month or more. Fortunately, the recent Far Cry 3 did not have its PC version delayed; a promising sign.

Yes, but the last few games before Far Cry 3 that Ubisoft said would not be delayed for the PC were delayed.
