Ubisoft Revives Might & Magic

Ubisoft has done plenty with the Might & Magic franchise since it was acquired years ago from New World Computing. It’s seen the release of several Heroes of Might & Magic games and expansions, as well as action-based spinoffs like Dark Messiah and Might and Magic, whose developers went on to create Dishonored.

In spite of the publisher’s work with the franchise, it has kept the original Might & Magic role-playing game dormant—until now, that is. Ubisoft has launched a new website to promote Might & MAgic X, with a teaser of the letter “X” made up of numerous images from the Might & Magic games. You can see it here.

The bottom of the page sports logos for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS. It is expected to be announced at PAX East.

I was so excited…till I saw that its going to be on consoles. Unless their planning a true old-school experience that a console could actually support, prepare to see Ubi embarrass itself with yet another “re-imagining” ala Deus Ex. This seems to be all the rage lately.
