Uncharted Writer Joins Visceral Games Star Wars Project

Amy Hennig has joined Visceral Games to work on a new Star Wars project.

Hennig, who will work as creative director on the game, announced her new position in a post on her Twitter. Visceral Games, in turn, has also issued an official statement about Hennig’s involvement in the, as of the moment, unrevealed title.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Amy Hennig to our team at Visceral Games and EA as Creative Director on our Star Wars project,” said Visceral’s Vice President Steve Papoutsis. “As both a colleague and friend, I’ve always admired her approach to creative development – focusing on nailing down the soul of a game first, and then making sure the writing, the gameplay, the design and the art comes together to form a unified, interactive experience for the player. This fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to do here at Visceral and Amy’s going to help us continue in our pursuit to make the most thrilling, immersive games in the world.” He would go on to urge gamers to think “about the possibilities” that Hennig’s presence on the team could bring to fruition.

Hennig, of course, just recently left her long running position at Naughty Dog where she directed and wrote all three PS3 Uncharted games. Initially, the reason for her departure was unknown with some surmising that she had been pushed out by other inside parties. That said, it’s probably safe to say that her new position at Visceral is related.

If Visceral wasn’t under EA’s thumb I might be a little more excited.

@fethski

I totally agree…No matter how good these Star Wars games are going to be I will not contribute anymore money towards EA.
