Universal Planning Another Doom movie

While id tools away at Doom 4 without really talking about it much, Universal still thinks there’s money to be had in a Doom film, and so they’re looking to put one together… in 3D.

This will not be a sequel; rather, it would be a reboot, which makes sense as the first film kinda sucked. Still, if they wanna be true to the franchise, they’ll make it a reboot and call it Doom 2, because it’s not like id has ever concerned themselves with making sure that games with a number behind them have anything to do with the other games in the series.

Is this a cool idea? I can’t tell, and I’m not going to pass any judgment on this until they get a screenwriter and director, assuming they go that far with this plan. That’s the only way I’ll be able to guess if it’ll be good.

I agree with Tsvetan, it wasn’t a bad movie… it was a bad DOOM movie, but not a bad Zombie Action movie. But hopefully this one will have DEMONS FROM HELL instead of a Viral outbreak… or God forbid, the route of the books where Aliens PRETENDED to be Demons from Hell, and had Swastikas.

There should be next to no plot. The movie should be an hour and change of one guy making his way through the facility as, literally, all hell breaks loose around him.

The entire movie should be shot in a first person view from the main character, who never says a word. All plot elements should be presented like the games: small vignettes that move the action along, providing motivation as to why you’re going into another demon infested area.

90%+ of the movie should just be shooting the crap out of demons and collecting keycards to move on. Seriously, I want to see the BFG at work in 3d hd cg on a roomful of demons.
