The following games would make great movies:
Bioshock,Fallout(I have started a script),Operation Flashpoint(Started A Script) Max Payne(already being made), S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Oblivion, Half Life 1+2,Hidden And Dangerous 2,The Longest Journey,Dreamfall,Brothers in arms,Grand Theft Auto,Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. These if directed by the right people(Coen Brothers for
me)would be classics and be worthy of Oscars, but continually making movies of mindless shooters like Halo(sorry) Far Cry and Doom is pointless.Good gameplay does not translate to the screen, remember that Uwe.

I have the feeling the Uwe got his ass repeatedly kicked in Pong when he was a kid or something like that. Hes just making these shitty movies to punish gamers everywhere because he sucks at em!

Final Fantasy VII had a great story line, and even had a movie made to follow it. and that movie was awesome. If the Japanese can do it, why can't Uwe Boll?

Besides Uwe's decisions - i don't get why classical adventure games
never get made into movies. I only play these classical point'n
click games and their whole gameplay is based on interactive
narration.

I really think, these storys could work much better.

The Monkey Island Animation Movie was cancelled, the Tex
Murphy project as well, Gabriel Knight and so on...
the only adventure franchise made into a movie is Broken Sword
right now, i guess. And, well, Alone in the Dark is actually
more an action-adventure type of game with little storytelling.

But there are millions of possible storylines in the adventure genre - Heck, even Zork could be an inspiration for a movie. Just take a game
with less shooting and action gameplay and more puzzle solving
and narration instead - a good storyline will bring fans of the
game into cinemas as well as other people just interested in the
storyline.

I find it hard to believe that these movies are bankrupting him. What else has he done in life to make money? Perhaps he just inherited a fortune or something.. I really don't know what the case is.

Most producers and directors that take a more independent approach like he does has investors. His investors are probably the ones going broke.

Yes, I was present here - at work - the day he made that statement  .

http://news.filefront.com/uwe-boll-booted-from-the-big-budget-movie-biz/

However, considering the fact that Uwe has three movies in post production (Far Cry, Tunnel Rats, Alone in the Dark II), two movies currently in production (Sabotage 1943, Bloodrayne III), one in pre-production (Zombie Massacre), and one announced (Legend: Hand of God) - he needs to put whatever money he has where his mouth is.

How many of those titles I just posted do you recognize as gaming titles? He may have decided to stop making movies based on games, but we still have to deal with the ones he has yet to finish wrapping up. He needs to go ahead and declare bankruptcy and start all over again with something different, but as far as him not making any more gaming related movies, I will believe it when I see it.

"He should take any bit of money he has made, and go back to school and learn a new vocation"

He said about last week that he was quitting making films about games with so much money as they were bankrupting him. Infact he hasnt made a cent, as they are failing to make any money at all.

Boll is a prefect example of how someone with no skill can still make a good living in the movie business. Every once in a while, terrible directors slip through the cracks and he's definitely one of them.

Boll simply chooses the wrong games to turn into movies and also somehow finds a way to make the story even worse in the film versions. The real problem with Boll is that he has never taken criticism to heart.. he simply tries to find someone to blame for his failures. If he would sit back and listen to what people have to say about his terrible movies, maybe he would learn something.
