Valve Bans BioShock from the Office

bioshock6.jpg2K Games’ BioShock has created a sensation that seems have gamers completely captivated . In fact the pull is so irresistible, Valve had to ban BioShock from its offices to get any work done. Employees aren’t allowed to play BioShock until Half Life 2 Episode Two and Orange Tree are gold and shipped out.

“We had to ban BioShock from our offices,” Valve boss Gabe Newell told us. “Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done – that’s our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of BioShock.”

“I haven’t had a chance to play it. I’m really looking forward to it,” Newell then admitted.

BioShock has been described as the “spiritual successor” to System Shock 2. It’s garnering Game of the year attention and received a 9.5 rating from CVG.

”Irrational is the latest example of people who’ve descended from the Id Software/Looking Glass family tree,” continued Newell, counting his own company as one of the many that spindled from the Doom and System Shock legacy.

“Somebody should do a family tree of Id and Looking Glass and it might turn out that there’s nobody left who isn’t a descendent of those two companies.” We wouldn’t bet money against it.

Orange Box is due out October 19. Seems like the guys at Valve have a long wait ahead of them.

I believe the term, ‘rofl’ is supportive of this article.

Well it’s just fantastic, isn’t it? I bet the creators of Pac-Man felt like that too.
