Valve Has Surprise for E3 — Is It HL2 Episode Three?

OK, so now E3 maybe just got way more exciting. Today, we got an email from Valve/Aperture Science, telling us this:

“Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise.”

OK, so that’s interesting, and confusing, I guess. Are they just making a funny or are they for real going to be doing something new at E3? Anywho, the following image popped up online this afternoon.

Nobody seems to know where that came from, so it’s very possible it’s fake. On the other hand, it could tie in with this jokey email from Valve co-founder Gabe Newell. I mean, Half-Life 2 Episode Three, anyone? Again, this could just be some viral nonsense somebody cooked up after the Aperture Science email went out. BUT WHAT IF IT’S NOT? WHAT IF VALVE IS ANNOUNCING EPISODE THREE AT E3?

Also, check out that G-Man face between the date and the Valve at the bottom.

Who cares. All the half-life games suck. The only decent thing to come out of Half-Life are its mods. Maybe they will be announcing a new engine! That would be more exciting.

I dont understand you.
HL2 was an amazing game which lived up to and dare I say it, surpassed it’s predecessor.
It was a deeply story rich game with good combat, full of puzzle based challenges and obstacles.
Whats not to like.

This waiting is actually driving me insane, slowly but surely.
Gabe is one sneaky guy, valve sure does like to mess with it’s users, and for that we love them dearly.

(Ryan: Who cares. All the half-life games suck…)
DUDE? what’s up with you? There’s a good reason the hl2 series won 40 game of the year awards!
The Half Life games are the only perfect games out there!
In most games, even call of duty, there AT LEAST one part of the fame you can’t wait for to end, but not in Half Life!

Proof of Half Life 3 or Episode 3. The word surprise was said three times in this paragraph!
