Valve Launches Community Campaigns, Summer Sale, and a Tease

Valve’s released some news that will make Left 4 Dead fans quite happy.

First off, they’re introducing a new feature for Left 4 Dead 2. Starting today, Valve will be featuring a new community campaign every two weeks. The first of these campaigns, Two Evil Eyes, is already live on 120 servers worldwide.

Want to get in on the action? Make sure you have Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on support installed in the Tools tab of Steam, and then grab the campaign here. Then you just need to join a game running that campaign, or create your own. If you create your own, there are plenty of official dedicated servers for that campaign.

If you’re prepping for back to school, and you need some zombie gear to fill out your wardrobe, Valve has you covered there as well. The Steam Store has all their L4D gear discounted now through Tuesday, August 17th.

That’s pretty cool, but that’s not all the news. Ever wonder what happened to the third DLC for the original Left 4 Dead? Maybe you want to know if there’s more DLC for L4D2 on the way, or maybe you want the Mac version. According to the L4D Blog, there’s information on all of this, plus news on the L4D comic, due to announced on Game Trailers TV August 20th on Spike TV at 12:30 AM.

Looks like we’ll soon have even more reasons to shoot zombies. Joy!
