Valve Moderators: Half-Life 3 Concept Art ‘Legit’

The suspected Half-Life 3 concept art that popped up on the internets yesterday were the subject of some limited controversy, mainly of the ‘they’re fake, they gotta be fake variety”. Mostly featuring Alyx Vance in several states of apparent ennui, they’re dated from 2008, suggesting that if they’re real, they’re probably not what the current work, if any, looks like. Here’s another bit of concept art for your perusal:

But are they fake? Hell no, say volunteer moderators on the Steam Forums. I know who the source is, but I’m not going to give it away just yet for exclusivity reasons,” said one moderator. “These are real,” another added. “Now keep in mind it is only concept art – but what has been posted are not fake.”

So there you have it. At one point, Valve really was working on Half-Life 3. Maybe this means they’ll stop giving everyone blue b-, er, PCs and make this thing happen.

The G-man is the mysterious guy with the suit and briefcase that follows you around throughout the series. He’s never actually called the “G-man” in-game, though.
