VGChartz Claims Skyrim Sold 3.4 Million Copies In Two Days

Game numerator site VGChartz is reporting that Skyrim had boffo sales in its first two days, selling 3.4 million copies worldwide in that time. That’s good enough to beat Gears of War 3′s first week, and it likely puts it on pace to beat Battlefield 3′s opening week of 5 million.

That is, of course, if these numbers are accurate. We don’t necessarily trust VGChartz’s own estimates, and so right now we’ll call this a “report.” If it is actually doing that well, though, you can expect Bethesda to make a big deal out of it pretty soon. Although it’s unlikely they’ll give us two-day numbers. They’ll probably just wait until next week to tell us first-week numbers. That is, if they’re big enough to boast about, anyway.

Judging by the long line at my local GameStop for the game last Thursday night, they probably are.
