Video: 20 Minutes of The Elder Scrolls Online Gameplay

The Elder Scrolls Online Gameplay from Csokis on Vimeo.

UPDATE #2: The Vimeo video is no more, but check out the screenshots below.

UPDATE #3: At Zenimax’s request, we have removed the screenshots.

Did you enjoy Dan’s Elder Scrolls Online preview? There’s finally a healthy, if not boring, side of video to go with his prose.

The above video appears to be 20 minutes of leaked gameplay footage from The Elder Scrolls Online. Despite it’s removal from DailyMotion and other video services, the video lives on via Vimeo…for now. I suspect that will change once Bethesda’s lawyers rub the sleep from their eyes in a few hours.

The video, uploaded by one “Csokis,” shows the character creation process, traveling via waypoints (or rather, “hearthpoints”), and a riveting battle between “Worst YouTube” the Sorcerer and a mudcrab. The player also shows off some of the interface options, scrolls through the various menus ad nauseam, and skips around the town of Port Hunding.

Take a gander while you can, and we will try and keep the video alive on Game Front as long as we can. If embedding is disabled at some point tonight, or if you want to watch the video in HD, the Vimeo link is here.

The game engine looks no better than MMO games releases over the last eight years… What a disappointment. Can’t any MMO push the envelope for once?!

Oh wait… Planetside did. Both times.

Keeping my fingers crossed for great thing from Everquest next.

It’s truly sad that few AAA companies are willing to move outside the realm of MMORPG.

I still waiting for a third person Massive Multiplayer game that doesn’t have cooldowns coupled with it’s RolePlay Elements.

Give me a Massive Multiplayer game that plays more like Kingdom Hearts or even, oh I don’t know, SKYRIM and I would gladly pay fifteen a month for it.

Your taste for games aside, Bethesda stated that they where done with “THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM” especifically, as in no more DLCs for TES V (they did state that minor updates were still coming). There was no mention of what their plans were for TES franchise, let alone another one featuring the “province of Skyrim” itself.

Furthermore, in a recent interview on destructoid (http://www.destructoid.com/bethesda-versus-freemium-multiplayer-sequels-251674.phtml) they clearly stated that “Single-player games aren’t going anywhere”. Then again there’s this MMO and other FTP projects, so there you have it.
