Spice World was a video game released in 1998 for the Sony PlayStation at the same time as the movie of the same name. Of course, nowadays most people deny ever liking the Spice Girls, but what’s the point in lying. The actual game received mixed reviews back in the day and most game journalists labeled the odd game as more of a gimmick than anything else. The entire point behind the gameplay was to prepare the girls for a concert by learning dance moves and later becoming the camera operator during the show.
So, basically the game was terrible. I actually knew someone who had it and I played for about 5 minutes and that’s all I could possibly stand. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t have any Spice Girls songs on my iPod because “Spice Up Your Life” is on there. An ex-girlfriend actually added it to my playlist and after a while I realized it was a bit of a catchy tune. As far as video gomes go, Spice World may have been one of the worst ideas ever. It’s still not as bad as the idea behind E.T., the game that nearly destroyed Atari, but it has to be pretty close.
