Video Game Mosaics: Taking Over Cities One Tile at a Time

arno-coenen-custom-mosaic-virtual-fairytale-02.jpg

The Netherlands gets to have all the fun. It looks like some of the back alleys there have been decorated by the mosaic works of Arno Coenen, who definitely has been influenced by video games. That would certainly explain why some walls in Amsterdam have been covered with tiled recreations of Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and Pac-Man, and…that kid from Quest 64? Apparently. Apparently Coenen works as part of Rock and Royal to create crazy mosaic masterpieces in various parts of the city. If you want to see more of Coenen’s work, you can check out his website here (though be warned, some of his stuff is NSFW).
