Video Games Turn 40, Virtual Pets Turn 10

Happy Birthday to Video Games everywhere! In May 1967, Pong was born, thus paving the way for such “gems” as Awesome Possum, Totally Rad, Ninja Hamster, and Yo! Noid. Ralph Baer, Bill Harrison, and Bill Rusch must be proud of the wonders and blunders that their creation has spawned.

In other more exciting news, Tamagotchi turns 10! Virtual Pets sold over 65 million units worldwide, and there are many different versions of this graphically challenged key-chain sized video game. Even a golden limited edition Connexion – which you can win for your very own! You know, my Tamagotchi pet is still alive. Damn thing just won’t die no matter how many times I withhold food and love.
