There’s a new video review up of Arkanoid DS courtesy of ChannelFlip. Maybe you enjoyed the addictive gameplay of the original and wanted to see how it translates to the DS. Now you can see for yourself if the enhancements to the original game are worth some of the trade offs you’ll be faced with.
Simple as it was, I loved this game as a kid and found it incredibly addictive with its systematic yet skillful gameplay.
So how does it fare in this recent DS version?
The core game is still the same and some neat features like the branching level system have been added, but there are also some serious downsides, like playing across two screens.
Take a look and see what you think. And don’t forget to leave us some feedback – I’m sure I’m not the only one with opinions on updating old classics!

Okay, admittedly the game plays amazing well with the actual DS attachment. That turn wheel is sooo amazing, and I’m saddened it didn’t get ported to other territories, it was amazing to have that feel again. Hooray for importing.
