I don’t know why, but the Japanese just need to get away from angels and crap, no offense Japanese Anime lovers. Every time I see a Japaneese MMO its about angels or birds or something about dragons (not that dragons aren’t cool in all but..still). I mean goofy is fine, out of your pot head smoking ass, well its new I might like it but may not play it cause you were on crack the whole time you built the game. But for the sake of the rest of the comments on this article I’m sure this game will be as good and exciting as the last 1,000+ MMOs out there but get away from the wings that’s all I have to say about that. other than that I took a nice look at the website and It looks like your standard free MMO which I know most players enjoy. sorry guys had to get that off my chest just would like to see something different that’s all.

Corpse: I think you have recognized one of the weaknesses with most fantasy MMOs – not just the Japanese or Korean MMOS. However I think you might also be filtering the angels through a western mindset – the wings and such are often more representative of concepts like ascension or holy advancement than than traditional Christian idea.

The MMO market is more than a little crowded, and each game tries to find its own special spot in that niche.. but often they rely on fantasy tropes to be “familiar” to potential players. We do need some more variety in our games, though I wonder if consumers would even respond.. poeple like the tropes.
