Warner Bros. Apologizes for Buggy Arkham Origins Release

Batman: Arkham Origins? Pretty good, if scoundrel Mitchell Saltzman is to be believed. But the game’s launch has been a bit bumpy, to say the least — so much so that Warner Bros. addressed bug issues in a forum post yesterday.

We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has joined us since the launch of the game.  We appreciate the fan support and also want to thank all the people in the field who have sent us their saved games as they have been invaluable in helping us identify the problems.

It has come to our attention that there are issues that are negatively impacting the experience for some players.  The team has been working around the clock to review, validate and pinpoint the problems that have been reported and we have identified three main issues which we are tackling first, and are listed below.  For these issues, we expect the software update to be available within the next week.  Rest assured, we are continuing to monitor all channels for other issues that players are experiencing and will release additional updates as they become available.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you all for your patience as we work to resolve the issues.

I haven’t played Origins on any platform yet, but issues including crashing and corrupted saves on the 360 and falling through the world on any platform have been widepsread enough for WB Games to specifically call them out. Fixes are on the way, as “addressing the issues…have become a top priority to the teams.”

Had to restart the game about 4-5 times during my playthrough. The game’s framerate dropped to ca 10-15 and would not fix itself other than through a restart. This tended to happen after a quick travel.

From what I’ve been hearing, the WiiU version is the least error prone.

Outside of a few glitches the game has been smooth for me.

The only time so far I’ve had to restart is when my screen went black during the Killer Croc fight.

Two things:

First, it’s nice that they apologized for the issues rather than ignoring their fans and hoping the flack dies down.

Second, this is yet another mark in my book that early adoption [aka day-one purchase] is anything but beneficial/cool/good for the consumer and that companies need to stretch out their development a bit for some games rather than go for the easier cash grab.

Batman: Arkham Origins isn’t the “AAA” game the industry needs right now but it’s the buggy, rushed, mesh that it deserves.

I had the game crash, and the frame rate has been a consistent issue in particular parts of the game. I know the map is bigger than Arkham City was, but as I recall I also had zero major technical issues like this. For as much as WB Montral recycled from Arkham City, I’m a bit surprised that it is substantially buggier than that game was.

Luckily, I didn’t have any issues on my playthrough. Game ran great the entire way :p

I’ve fallen through the map a few times, crashed a few times, and my save file has corrupted on me…..twice. This games bugs have been incredibly frustrating so far. I’m really hoping they patch this soon.

Well, i have played it on PC, and i must say there are a few glitches, such as going trough walls, or being restored to the wrong checkpoint
