Warner Bros. Fast-tracks Heavy Rain Movie

I don’t even know what to say about this, so I’ll just get down to the deets.

Seven months ago, Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne bought the rights to make a Heavy Rain movie. I speculated then that they might have made the purchase just so they could push it through if it turned into a big game franchise.

That speculation was way wrong. Shaye and Lynne’s production house, Unique Features, have a first-look deal with Warner Bros., and they’re fast-tracking this bitch. They’ve hired the creator of Deadwood and NYPD Blue, David Milch, to write it.

As you know, I have no love for Heavy Rain. I think it sucks great big donkey penis, in fact. But it’s basically a movie already, so this seems pointless. With Milch writing, however, I am 100% certain the movie will be about seven million times better than the game, even if the material is basically a very pretentious, s–ty version of Saw.
