Watch Dogs To (Probably) Launch On All Consoles

If you needed more evidence that we’re probably getting the next-gen Playstation and Xbox consoles later this year, look no further than leaked marketing materials for Ubisoft’s upcoming Watch Dogs. The materials confirm what we’ve already known, which is that they’ll be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC when it launches this holiday season. But bearing the cryptic message ‘available on all home consoles’ and quoting a G4 review that called it a ‘truly next gen adventure’, it’s looking like we might be getting a tease that the game will be available on more than just current gen systems.

Sony and Microsoft have yet to confirm their next gen systems will be out anytime soon, but Sony has planned a huge media event for February 20 that is widely assumed to be their Playstation 4 reveal. Microsoft is expected to follow suit by no later than E3. If so, then we might be getting a lot more than we thought to spend on this fall. Of course, Wii U is technically a next gen console and it’s obviously part of ‘all home consoles’, so we could just be seeing Nintendo actually letting their customers play a new game not featuring Mario. We’ll know more this year.

Incidentally, in case you missed it, we fell in love with Watch Dogs at E3 2012. Check out our coverage for more. Meanwhile, see both leaked materials below (via Kotaku.)

I really hope ubi is not pushing this game before it is complete. Watch Dogs literally took E3 by storm, and I hope that level of response did not go to ubi’s head. They have the chance to make something truly special, and I expect to be blown away when it releases. Nothing less will suffice.
