Watch Dogs Players Locked Out of Game Saves by Uplay Bug

A new bug has surfaced locking players out of their Watch Dogs saved games.

According to a swiftly lengthening thread in the Watch Dogs technical support forums, players attempting to load their ongoing games have found themselves perpetually stuck on the loading screen.

“I select continue to play my save [and] the loading bar gets stuck at about 90 percent,” described one poster. “No matter how long I wait it won’t load.”

This player’s experience was echoed by countless other people playing on a variety of consoles and on PC. The issue likewise seems to be occurring for both physical and digital copies of the game. Many have also noted that their troubles began after they attempted to purchase or access content from Ubisoft’s Uplay store. Thus far the only way to circumvent the issue has been to start a completely new game. This, understandably, is not a happy prospect for many players, many of whom have invested a considerable amount of time in the game.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft to see if there’s any official word on a solution.

I can’t even play the lag spikes are so bad, I don’t want to be in a game with sudden stop start movements my only game play option is just hit quit. sad.getting out of my apartment is nightmare, I hope this fixes by less people playing or something :( maybe I be better in offline mode. who knows but this sort of thing stops me from playing for a long time. glad i only paid 45 for the wddlx for this game but that still doesn’t compensate the sadness..

I got no issues on my game. Everything is working perfectly. Simply by using a crack for now. And no lags from here: GTX 550 Ti, Intel i5 2300, 8 GB RAM, Running it at High Settings except the textures are set to medium, HBAO+ High setting, 720p Resolution and AA is FXAA :3

As usual, the paying customers suffers while the pirates simply remove the junky code.

It would be nice, if the rest of uPlay would stay operational while they sort out Watch_Dogs… can’t login for hours to get to play Anno 2070. (The only game for which I accepted uPlay so far, and it will stay that way. uPlay is THAT horrible.) And no, the start offline method doesn’t work reliably either: six times out of ten, uPlay just keeps asking my login credentials and won’t offer me the “Go Offline” button, despite the error message suggesting just that.
