Watch Dogs Release Date Announced, Get Hacking in May
Future Chicago will open to hackers on May 27. That’s when Ubisoft says Watch Dogs, a game originally set for launch in November, will finally be released.
We’ve been champing at the bit to play Watch Dogs since Ubisoft unveiled the open-world hackventure at E3 2012. It was originally set for launch alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2013, but in October developer Ubisoft Montreal said it needed more time to polish its creation. With the May 27 launch now official, that means Ubi will have had roughly six additional months to tweak Watch Dogs.
“We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs,” Ubisoft marketing VP Geoffroy Sardin said in a statement. “We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait.”
The announcement comes with a new trailer that provides an overview Watch Dogs’ story of revenge:
