Watch Dogs Runs at 1080p on PS4

Watch Dogs will run at 1080p and 60fps on PS4.

That, at least, is what Sony claimed, inthe Watch Dogs section of the official PlayStation website.

“The world of Watch Dogs comes alive on PS4 with the best graphics on any console and exclusive missions found only on PlayStation,” said the company’s online description. “Hack everything as you make your way through Chicago’s underground as you experience Watch Dogs in a way that only PS4 can provide, at 60 Frames Per Second in 1080p.”

Ubisoft itself has yet to offer any confirmation as to whether this information is accurate. Likewise, there is currently no information as to whether the Xbox One version will provide a similarly high definition experience. It’s worth noting that other multiplatform titles have, in the past, enjoyed a higher resolution on the PS4 than on the Xbox One. That, of course, could just be an anomaly, but it could be seen by some as a troubling trend if another highly anticipated title like Watch Dogs were to suffer from similar issues.

If they didn’t seriously downgrade the graphics from E3 level, I’d be impressed.

“[...] exclusive missions found only on PlayStation.”

Oh great, as if the chart for what is included in which packages wasn’t bordering on mobile telephone plan insanity already (just got to and tell me what would be the cheapest option to get all missions on PC – AFAICT buying the normal digital Steam edition (not in the chart) + a Season Pass might get you the most except one pack which you can only get by either buying the Deluxe Edition from Steam (+10 currency units) or the UPlay exclusive edition (+20 currency units). In both cases large parts of the Season Pass become redundant). Now there is content (as in missions, not just some funny weapon or outfit) I can’t play on PC (though I’m not seeing anything on the chart, that stays PS-exclusive if you use the “right” mix of packages)?

I’m really going to wait until there’s either a sale or GotY edtion (or both). Why can’t we just get games like when I was younger? One package, maybe a collectors edition with additional physical stuff not affecting the game. And later there might be an expansion pack. I hate this DLC splitting so much.
