We’ve Discovered The Very First Steam Machine Ad (GRAPHIC)
When Valve trolled the whole internet with the reveal of the Steam Machine, the smart assumption was that the company has had this thing in the works for a long time. This is, after all, the same company that has yet to confirm it’s even working on Half-Life 3.
Well, our crack investigative team has gotten our hands on an authentic copy of the very first ad ever created for Steam’s new console. As it turns out, the Steam Machine has been under development for a very, very long time, and it seems the original plan was to provide Gilded Age-video gamers with a truly next-generation experience, circa 1897.
In all seriousness, Valve takes so long to finish, well, anything, that the original version of the Steam Machine might as well have come from the steam-powered* industrial age. With that in mind, we present The Amazing Steam Machine, an original graphic designed by Game Front’s CJ Miozzi, (@Rhykker) and written by Ross Lincoln (@RossALincoln).
Sally forth, good chums, and bring civilization to the benighted online hoi polloi.
