What is Bungie Aerospace? An Indie Developer Partnership Initiative

An exclusive report by Kotaku (coughjerkscough) says that Bungie’s new Aerospace thingie is not not a new studio: it’s a plan to partner with small developers and nurture them. The first team-up? Mobile games dev Hairbrained Schemes. Bungie is helping to fund their game codenamed Crimson. So there goes that mystery.

Bungie community manager described the initiative like so: “We want to give them some of our proprietary rocket fuel, whether that be resources, audience, funding or what have you and let them showcase their great games.”

I like this move, personally. Everybody can use a mentor, and I see this is like a Big Brother/Big Sister program for the indie folk. Or at east the indie folks who sign up for the program. Let’s hope Bungie doesn’t get rough with any of the devs who come on board.
