Lets see….2014.

Well, I hope BF4 is fixed by then. I do look foward to playing the rest of the expansions I guess, even though BF3 is a much better game. Also, the PC version of Metal Gear Rising. And hopefully, the PC versoins of Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain (if it even happens, let alone in 2014)

Or even DOOM4, again, if it comes out next year.

So far, The Division holds my interest more than any other. If it lives up to the hype, it’l be pretty rad.

Wasteland 2 hands down. I am yearning for a deep RPG, with actual Role Playing, and Wasteland 2 appears to be just what I need.

If there’s one game I’m most excited about, it has to be The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The first Witcher game was interesting in its vision of a dark medieval fantasy world, and surprisingly committed to doing some mature story-telling. However, for American player (myself) it still felt rough around the edges. My understanding is that the game’s character dialogue had been originally written in Polish and then translated before voice acting. So some things came out a bit odd. Still, the overall experience was impressive.

The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings took that foundation and built an incredible virtual world to continue the story. Environments, character models, character animations, voice acting, were all at the cutting edge of what technology could do. IMHO, no other game over the past 5 years has matched Witcher 2 in terms of quality of storytelling, and immersion.

So yeah I’m pretty excited for Witcher 3. CD Projekt RED seems to be following the traditional model for video game sequels. Make everything bigger. This means there will be a larger game world, more story lines to engage and more diversity in environments to explore. Cutting edge graphics and exciting game play are important of course, but what sets the series apart for me is that it takes itself seriously, and rewards gamers who take it seriously.

Dark Souls 2, I really like the challenge of the souls series it reminds me of the first Mario bros. game that me my brother and my dad use to play back when I was a kid. I miss the challenge of old games where they didn’t hold your hand and tell you where to go an what to do every 3 seconds. Namco Bandai and From Software keep up the good work an never go main stream, Marry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Hi GameFront,

In 2014, I am most looking forward to “The Order: 1886.” I am a huge fan of counter-factual histories and I cannot wait to see how The Order uses real-world places, figures, and events to retell the history of Victorian-Era London.

I feel that video games have a lot to tell people about history and the world we currently live in. Assassin’s Creed brilliantly uses historical figures and events to provide players a different view and understanding of past events. Mass Effect is a great metaphor for globalization, addressing real-world concerns of our environment, the economy, and world politics. I am very excited to see what The Order: 1886 has to tell us and what pieces of Victorian history are represented.

2014 will be marked by the witcher 3. Having played both 1 & 2 through completion multiple times, I can’t wait to see what CD Project cooks up for the series finale. Judging by the quality of past iterations of the witcher and the promise they are laying fourth with the witcher 3, I expect it to compete as best rpg ever made.

I’m not eligible (not in north america and that sucks because I’d love to get my hands on a Kone…), but I’m most looking forward to Skyrim Online, as I am still eagerly waiting for the right openworld MMO and TESO seems a serious contender. Now Dragon Age : Inquisition is supposed to come out in 2014 too, and I’m just curious about how Bioware will emerge from that : the final fail ? or the long awaited resurrection ?

Happy holidays everyone !

Mostly in 2014 I expect to continue to work through the games I missed from 2011-13, as well as some older games, heh. I do want to play Watch Dogs and Star Citizen at some point though for sure, and possibly the new Thief.

Oh, and the Witcher 3 I guess, but I’ll need to play 1 and 2 first. Perhaps I’ll get the first one in ’14 =)

It would have to be The Division, although there are quite a few runner-ups like Star Citizen and The Witcher 3. But only The Division promises to give me the type of gameplay I’ve been wanting out of games like DayZ, but in a far more polished package.

Hmm…tossup between Star Citizen and Watch Dogs for me. I, unlike most people, am on the fence about open world games. For example, while Skyrim was really impressive, I just couldn’t get into it. Something was missing – maybe the combat, maybe all these landmarks scattered around the world needed to be more relevant – I can’t really put a finger on it.
I’m hoping Star Citizen and Watch Dogs will re-vitalize open world for me.

On December 14, 2013 at 8:11 pm

Witcher 3 is my most anticipated game. I’ve loved that series since the original and they just keep getting better. The series is probably one of, if not the best RPG games out there. I am beyond excited for that game and I can’t wait to see how an open world is translated in the Witcher series. There are a lot of great games coming out but this one definitely is at the top of my list.

I am so excited for Elder Scrolls Online next year. I am also anxious because I hope I do well in school next semester if I’m going to be playing both FFXIV and ESO. I really can’t wait. I’m for sure making a pretty and stealthy Bosmer.

I am most excited about the new Metal Gear Game/s Ground Zeroes and Ghost Pain. I am looking forward to getting to actually get to play around in the Fox engine. Ever since I saw the first leaked videos of Ground Zeroes about 2 years ago I was totally blown away by it. Also playing it on the PS4 will just be an added treat. A FAR flung second would be the Diablo III expansion for PC.

Star Citizen.
Never before did a game provide you a single player, multiplayer and an MMO experience in a single package based on how much incompetence you were willing to put up with. : P

On December 16, 2013 at 10:51 pm

The most conuous game that appeals to me seems like Episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us, by the creators of the infamous The Walking Dead. Telltale Games do not seem like they are going to disappoint any time soon with this expansion to their unique style in game design. I can not wait to see how they are going to lay out the Fable theme this time.

I’m trying not to let my hopes for 2014 get too high…but as as PC gamer almost exclusively, its hard not to! Star Citizen, Wasteland 2 and ESO are vying for top spot on my “must play” list. I desperately need a good USB hub and gaming keyboard so here’s hoping.

With all the upcoming titles to be released in 2014, there’s definitely a few I’m keeping my eye on. Mainly, I’ve been checking out Titanfall. Titanfall looks to me like it is going to be a very successful game and it is more than likely going to attract a lot of PC gamers like myself when it is released. Even though it will most likely only be available on Origin for PC, I know I’ll be grabbing a copy of it anyways. It looks too good to pass up.

I am most looking forward to Wildstar in 2014. Finally a MMO that isn’t just a bunch of gimmicky features, but a MMO with features we already know and love that makes sure to be loaded with tons of leveling AND end game content on release. Add onto that an EVE-style PLEX system to pay for the game but (hopefully) keep contents large and regular, I am sold. The devs really seem like they know what they are doing when it comes to the world of MMOs.
