World of Darkness Screens Leaked

A gallery of leaked screenshots has emerged from CCP’s MMO World of Darkness.

The images, which primarily show off a cityscape at night, primarily focus in on a female player character as she stocks around the streets, performing spells, sucking blood and otherwise just looking dark and foreboding. The images come from a Russian World of Darkness website. The site also contains a PDF file of a guide given to testers from the game’s March 2014 beta.

World of Darkness itself, of course, was cancelled earlier this month after nearly eight years of development. The project’s end was, in the words of CCP CEO Hilmar Petursson “one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make” and resulted in 56 staffers from CCP Atlanta losing their jobs.

I think they announced the game too soon. They announced it in 2006, and were working on it since. They probably should have waited a while before announcing it. Hopefully, they’ll bring the project back after they complete their work on the two Eve Online spinoffs.
